The term Six Gap route is widely known and used by motorcyclists, but it’s also home to a popular annual cycling event, the Six Gap Century, organized by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce. The term "Six Gap" is broadly recognized as referring to the six scenic mountain gaps—Wolfpen, Woody, Neels, Hogpen, Unicoi, and Jacks—through North Georgia, making it a favorite for all types of riders!

Start at Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages (55 Misty Mountain Lane, Blairsville, GA):
Head south on US-19/129 from Misty Mountain Lane toward Blood Mountain and Neels Gap.
Misty Mountain Lane to Neels Gap:
Travel south on US-19/129 for approximately 9 miles, enjoying the climb as you approach Neels Gap. This section, often called the Blood Mountain Run, offers exciting turns and three lanes for uphill passing.
Neels Gap to Stonepile Gap:
Continue south on US-19/129 for about 11 miles until you reach the intersection with GA-60.
Turn right onto GA-60 and head north toward Stonepile Gap and Woody Gap. This scenic stretch is a favorite for its wide, sweeping curves.
Stonepile Gap to Woody Gap:
Stay on GA-60 for 17 miles, passing through the small community of Suches.
Reach Woody Gap, where you’ll enjoy beautiful views of the mountains.
Woody Gap to Wolfpen Gap:
Continue on GA-60 until you reach GA-180 (Wolfpen Gap Road).
Turn right on GA-180 and follow the road for about 11 miles. The ride through Wolfpen Gap is filled with challenging curves and steep gradients, ideal for experienced riders.
Wolfpen Gap to Jacks Gap:
Continue on GA-180 until it intersects with GA-75.
Turn right onto GA-75 and head north for 3 miles until you reach Jacks Gap.
Jacks Gap to Unicoi Gap:
From Jacks Gap, continue on GA-75 for approximately 5 miles.
Ascend to Unicoi Gap for stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains and forested landscape.
Unicoi Gap to Hogpen Gap:
Turn left onto GA-348 (Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway), heading west toward Hogpen Gap.
After about 11 miles, you’ll reach Hogpen Gap, the highest point of the route, known for panoramic views and thrilling curves.
Hogpen Gap back to Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages:
Continue on GA-348 until it intersects again with GA-180.
Take a left onto GA-180 and ride south until you reach US-19/129.
Turn left on US-19/129 and head north, returning to 55 Misty Mountain Lane in Blairsville.
